Qingdao Real Estate Update

Taxes and fees for buying second hand property in Qingdao have recently changed:
(1)  If the property is under under 144 m² and more than 5 years old, the buyers need to pay the title deed tax plus 5.5% business tax.
(2)  If the property is more than 144 m² but less than 5 years old, the buyers need to pay the title deed tax plus 2% personal tax and 5.5% business tax.

Qingdao Haier on top of the world

Qingdao’s Haier Group, founded in 1984, is on top by market share for the first time according to 2009 Euromonitor International, a world leading business intelligence firm. Haier Group’s major appliance unit tops the list with a retail volume market share of 5.1% which is up almost a point (0.8) from 2008.
Haier’s big winners were the home & laundry appliance’ units which ranked first by global brand name, with 10.4% (up 3.7 points) and 8.4% (1.5 points) retail volume market share respectively.

Inside sources from the first five star hotel in Qingdao, HaiTian Hotel, said that in July 2010 the hotel will be demolished to make way for version 2.0,  which will have new everything.
Qingdao currently has 7 five star hotels, with Le Meridien being the latest and a Four Seasons on the way.
